Louis van Gaal is given complete freedom to determine the Manchester United squad next season. Van Gaal allowed to buy or sell any player he wants, at least according to Ed Woodward.
Only, that power comes at a great price. Van Gaal was given the task to bring United into one of the clubs that the achievement was in the top board.
United's main target is the back entrance to the Champions League. But Woodward insists that the club will not be satisfied with just finishing in the top four. Van Gaal insists he should be able to bring the United champions.
"We are a club that should always be there in the Champions League. That is what the fans and our players., But we must always strive to be champions of the Premier League. We do not participate in the Premier League to be the only contestant. We came to win," said Woodward as quoted by BT Sport.
United's team is currently in the United States to undergo a pre-season preparations.
