Former retainer of Manchester United, Bryan Robson, believes the presence of Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford will make the club forget the wounds and trauma of last season.

Under David Moyes, United could only finish seventh in the final standings. Management finally decided to sack Moyes, and appoint Van Gaal meneers instead.

"Fans and the club is very disappointed last year, but no more injured than the players," said Robson at the Press Association.

"I know the players like to know this. They've won a lot of titles and a lot of them are very disappointed with what has happened. Yet they want to rise up and prove that they can come back to win something," he concluded.
