Steven Gerrard Retire From National Team
Steven Gerrard finally put an end to his adventures with England. Gerrard announced that he has decided to retire from the national team after defending the Three Lions for 14 years.
Gerrard made his debut with England in 2000 when England won 2-0 against Ukraine. Overall, Gerrard has been played 114 times for England and scored 21 goals.
Gerrard has appeared in six major tournaments with England. He missed the 2002 World Cup due to injury and England did not qualify for the finals of Euro 2008 in Switzerland and Austria.
"I enjoyed every minute playing for my country. Today is a sad day because I know that will not wear the England jersey again., But I will continue to forge a good relationship with the FA and I will give as much help me," said Gerrard on the official site FA.
Gerrard is going to continue to work with the FA. After retirement, Gerrard will get the role as an ambassador for the FA.
