Argentina could only finish as runners-up after losing to Germany in the final. However, the Argentine public really appreciate the effort that the players have shown them throughout this World Cup.
Lionel Messi was very moved by the rousing welcome. As team captain, he said that the players are also very disappointed with the failure to become champion.
